WHAT TO EXPECT:

The secret to portraits is to get to know each other before your session. This is an essential step that I’ve kept with all my clients. I enjoy getting to know each and every client in order to establish a lasting relationship and gain insight into their backstory. Because every client is unique, I respect your desire to capture and hold onto the moment. You can trust Pinky Decker Photography to make you feel seen and heard. My objective is to put every client at ease because not everyone is comfortable in front of the camera; after all, life isn't "picture perfect." So, you'll often find me behind the camera giggling and keeping things lighthearted and authentic.

Before we agree to work together, we'll have a few phone calls and texts messages to get to know each other. It’s all about building trust prior to getting in front of the camera.

To be completely honest, those Instagram sessions that appear so well-organized and serene...You can be sure they weren't. We let children be children because it is who they are. Every family is different. The great photographs were most likely captured in the midst of a lot of activity, so let me handle it!! Ultimately, I want my sessions to be unhurried and stress-free. Don't worry about striking a pose. My intention is for you to take equal pleasure in the process and the final outcome. I will take care of all the details and make my studio feel like home. Let me capture those moments you will never have again.

Depending on a number of factors (size of family, age of the child, location, need for breaks, cooperation level, and so on) your session will last 40–60 minutes (maternity sessions last 60–90 minutes and newborn can last up to 2.5hrs). My sessions are based more on interactions and poses rather the clock; if I feel the kid or the family is "done," I won't push further unless there are still crucial poses we haven't worked on.
